I continue on with my service dog journey by applying for more wait lists and putting out some donation boxes at local stores. I found a local place in PA called Phoenix Assistance Dogs and have been put on their 1-3 year wait lists for fully trained service dog and in the process of doing the application for the partial trained service dog which has a shorter wait list.
Every place that I apply for a service dog, I make sure that they know that my address may change from the application since I am still unsure at this point exactly where I will be living. I am currently on housing wait list and plan to move in with friends if housing isn't available by the time that I have to move out of my current apartment.
I continue on with fundraising since I know that I still 100% plan on getting a service dog and would like to have the money available once a service dog is available. If I learned anything along this journey, it is that you need the money for the service dog very quickly once you are approved or matched with a dog, so it makes sense to fundraise before I am approved or matched with a service dog.
I will continue to post updates as I get them. While this journey is not what I expected, I am determined to stick to it for as long as it takes!
